GAINESVILLE, Ga. (October 8, 2024) – On Tuesday, the Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team traveled to face Brenau University for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up, where the Lady Bears defeated the Golden Tigers 3-2 (25-14, 23-25, 25-11, 17-25, 15-7). TMU rises to an overall record of 8-10, 6-3 AAC.

Set one saw the Lady Bears first to strike with a six-point rally, featuring kills by
Elizabeth Franklin and
Faith Clarkson, paired with a service ace by Boland and a block assist by Clarkson and Franklin. TMU kept the momentum rolling with kills by
Jordan Roberts and
Katie Williams ultimately proving victorious, 25-14. In the second set TMU took an early lead with kills by Clarkson and a service ace by
Deomi Valmus leading the way. The Lady Bears continued to hold their own, eager to take set two, when a six-point rally by the Golden Tigers pushed a win out of the way, 23-25.Â

In set three, the Lady Bears showed no mercy tallying 14 kills, two blocks and five service aces to record a 25-11 set win. Set four saw BU quickly retain the lead with a six-point rally. The Lady Bears fought back with kills by Williams, Nadia Lulinksi, and
Sullivan Knight, eager to take control of the set when a final kill by the opposing team shut down set four 17-25. In the final set, the Lady Bears gave it all they had, rallying together to record a six-point rally proving capable of securing the match win, 15-7.

LEADERS
Clarkson led the way with 13 kills, two solo blocks and three block assists. Williams followed with eight kills, while Roberts and Franklin recorded six kills. Knight was featured recording four serving aces, while Boland tallied 22 assists.Â
