CLEVELAND, Ga. (October 22, 2024) – On Tuesday, the Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team hosted RV Reinhardt University for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up where the Lady Bears put up a fight but ultimately fell to the Eagles, 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-21). TMU falls to an overall record of 10-15, 7-8 AAC
 
PLAY-BY-PLAY
In set one, TMU was first to score as an attack error by the opposing team put TMU ahead. The Lady Bears continued to use their early momentum to create a five-point gap, featuring kills by Elizabeth Franklin and Jordan Roberts. A six-point rally by the Eagles ultimately pushed RU ahead as TMU threatened to fall behind. Final kills by Roberts and Franklin attempted to bridge the gap, but late rallies by the opposing teams ultimately left the Lady Bears behind, 25-13. In set two, TMU fell behind early as two four-point rallies by the Eagles allowed RU ahead. Kills by Sameily Marquez, Franklin, Faith Clarkson and Katie Williams once again attempted to change the tide of the set. Three final kills by the opposing team ultimately shut down set two, 25-17. In the final set, the Lady Bears fought back against the Eagles, working together to earn a set win. Both teams battled back and forth with TMU staying sharp on the Eagles tail, when back-to-back kills by RU ultimately decided the match's fate, 25-21.
 
LEADERS
Katie Williams led the way with five kills, one service ace and three block assists. Franklin followed with five kills, two solo blocks and three block assists, while Roberts tallied four kills.

The Lady Bears will travel to Columbia, S.C. on Wednesday, October 23 to face AAC opponent, Columbia College. Match time to be determined.
