CLEVELAND, Ga. (October 15, 2024) – On Tuesday, the Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team hosted Montreat College for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up where the Lady Bears put up a fight but ultimately fell to the Cavaliers, 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-22). TMU falls to an overall record of 10-12, 7-5 AAC.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
In the first set, MC was first to score with the Lady Bears quickly responding with a kill by
Faith Clarkson. Both teams continued to battle with the Cavaliers ultimately pulling ahead with a four-point rally. Final kills by
Jordan Roberts and
Elizabeth Franklin attempted to push TMU ahead but was not enough as MC took the set 25-19. In set two, MC once again took the lead with an early five-point rally. Kills by Franklin,
Caroline Yeager,
Nadia Lulinski and Roberts tried to bridge the wide gap, but could ultimately not stop MC from obtaining the set win, 25-16. The final set saw a battle between the two teams as the match remained even. Kills by Yates, Roberts and Lulinski kept TMU in the game as the Lady Bears aimed for a set three win. A last chance three-point rally, featuring a kill by
Kara Morgan, attempted to change the tide of the game but was unable to change the match's fate as the Lady Bears fell in a tough loss, 25-22.

LEADERS
Roberts led the way with nine kills. Franklin followed with six kills and two solo blocks, while Lulinski tallied six kills. Clarkson and Yates were seen recording three kills apiece, while Yeager tallied 12 assists.
