MILLIGAN, Tenn. (September 13, 2023) – On Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University men's soccer team traveled to Milligan University for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up, where the Bears played with heart, but ultimately fell to a final score of 1-2. TMU falls to an overall record 3-1, 1-1 AAC, while Milligan rises to a record of 4-2, 1-0 AAC.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
In the first half, TMU was first to act, with
Jose Ventura taking a shot in the first two minutes of regulation. The half remained evenly matched until a goal from
Oscar Brennan, assisted by
Max Farris, in the 31
stminute put the Bears ahead 1-0. The Bears continued working hard on defense, until a last-minute effort in the 43
rd minute by Milligan set the score even as the game headed into the half tied, 1-1.

In the second half, Milligan gained speed, but good defense, featuring three goal saves, by keeper
Aleksa Lukic, kept TMU in the game. A shot by Farris in the 71
st minute proved one of the Bears final efforts to find the back of the net, while Milligan scored their final goal of the day in the 73
rd minute, ultimately sealing the deal leaving the Bears to fall in a heartbreaking loss, 1-2.

LEADERS
Brennan led the way for the Bears with one goal, followed by Farris who took one shot and had one assist. Ventura,
Maury Ibarra and
Will Fraser-Gray recorded one shot a piece, while keeper Lukic recorded seven saves on the evening.
