TMU makes program history with first team win over Columbia

CLEVELAND, Ga. (February, 24) – The Truett McConnell University men's tennis team went face to face with Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Columbia College, where the Bears earned their first program victory after battling the Fighting Koalas through every tough set (5-2).

TMU set the stage with two big wins at the start in doubles (2-1) with stellar performances from partners Ike Dixon/Landon Gunthrie (6-4) and Ethan Caralson/Jake Floyd (6-1). The Bears carried the momentum into singles, with Caralson leading the way with a clean sweep on court five (6-0, 6-0), followed by Dixon taking care of business on court three (6-0, 6-3). TMU sealed the deal after Gunthrie secured set one with a 6-4 win and set two with a 6-2 win on court four, while Floyd closed out the match on court six after winning two straight sets (6-3, 6-2).

Up next, TMU is back in action on Saturday, March 4, where they are set to travel to face Lagrange College at 1:00p.m.
