CLEVELAND, Ga. (October 25, 2023) – On Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University women's soccer team hosted University of Pikeville for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up, where the No. 20 Lady Bears concluded the regular season with a shutout win with a score of 4-0. TMU rises to an overall record of 14-2-2, 13-0-1 AAC, while UPike falls to a record of 6-9-2, 5-6-2 AAC.

In the first half, the Lady Bears were eager to make their mark with a goal by
Ashley Johnson, assisted by
Brianna Hernandez, in the first six minutes of regulation (1-0). TMU's offense continued to stay sharp as a good ball by
Eliska Dvorakova, in the 16
thminute, found perfect position for Johnson to score the Lady Bears second goal of the day (2-0). The home team kept their momentum rolling through the entire half when a third goal, unassisted by
Julia Ruiz, found its way into the back of the net, 3-0.
The second half saw TMU quick to act once again, with Dvorakova, assisted by
Lyndsey Darden, scoring the Lady Bears final goal of the evening (4-0). TMU continued to work hard on both sides of the ball when two last chance efforts by UPike attempted to put the visiting team on the board but was soon proven no contest as keeper
Emelie Taylor saved both chances, allowing the Lady Bears to record their sixth straight win with a score of 4-0.
LEADERS
Johnson led the way for the Lady Bears with two goals and took six shots. Dvorakova followed with one goal and one assist, while taking four shots. Ruiz recorded one goal on the evening, while Hernandez and Fowler collected one assist apiece.

on Saturday, November 4th, as they begin AAC Tournament play at home inside the TMU Soccer Lacrosse Complex. Match time and opponent set to be determined.
