CLEVELAND, Ga. (August 20, 2022) – The Truett McConnell University men's soccer team hosted Toccoa Falls College for their season opener, where they won in dominating fashion (12-1). The Bears were seen outshooting their opponent 54-3.
The Eagles fall to a record of 0-1, while the Bears start their season strong with a record of 1-0.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
TMU was hot out of the gates on offense, scoring the first goal in the 13th minute from Will Fraser-Gray, assisted by Christian Bowen (1-0). The Eagles retaliated with their only goal of the night in the 19th minute (1-1). TMU quickly scored another goal from Fraser-Gray, followed by Nour Alamri (3-1). Goals from Bowen, Max Farris, and Adrian Hofherr gave the Bears a 6-1 advantage going into the half.
In the second half, TMU remained resilient on offense, quickly scoring two more goals from Fraser-Gray (8-1). The Eagles were able to take a couple of shots, but goals from Maury Ibarra, Farris, Lucan Yates and Jose Ventura gave TMU a 12-1 victory.
LEADERS
Fraser-Gray led the way with six shots, five shots on goal, and four goals on the night. Farris followed with six shots, three shots on goal, and two goals. Alamri, Ibarra, Yates, Ventura and Bowen each collected a goal apiece.
