LAURENBERG, N.C. (March 14, 2022) – The Truett McConnell University men's volleyball team traveled to compete in two-day tournament Friday-Saturday, hosted by Campbellsville University. The Bears stole set three from Rio Grande to force the match to go on, but ultimately fell 3-1. The Bears continued to suffer three tough losses against Campbellsville (3-0), Cumberland University (3-0) and Thomas More University (3-0).Â
MATCH 1 - TMU vs. Campbellsville (25-12, 25-15, 25-12)
Nathan Hill and
Jackson Adams led the way in match one with three kills, while
Owen Nobles recorded one block and five digs.
Kaleb Mitchell followed with five digs of his own, while
Wensky Saintilmond had four digs and seven assists.Â
MATCH 2 - TMU vs. Rio Grande (25-22, 25-17, 24-26, 25-17)
Nobles led the way in match two with nine kills and six digs, followed by Adams who had seven kills and six digs and Hill who had six kills and seven digs. Saintilmond recorded 29 assists, along with two blocks and one ace.Â
MATCHÂ 3 - TMU vs. Cumberland (25-11, 25-17, 25-21)
Nobles and Mitchell recorded four kills apiece in match three, while Adams had three kills of his own. Stokes had two stellar kills, followed by Mitchell who had seven impressive digs. Saintilmond earned 12 assists and three digs.Â
MATCHÂ 4 - TMU vs. Thomas More (25-14, 25-19, 25-14)
Hill led match four with nine kills and five digs, followed by Adams who had six kills and two assists. Mitchell had four kills, eight digs, five assists and two blocks, while Saintilmond had nine assists and six digs.Â
Up next, the Bears hit the road to face Life University on Thursday, March 24, with match time set for 7:00 p.m.Â
