Box Score 2 CLEVELAND, Ga. (October 22, 2022) - The Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team traveled to face Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent Columbia International University, where the Lady Bears fell in three tough sets in both matches. TMU falls to a record of 16-15, 9-7 AAC, while the Rams rise to 27-7, 16-1 AAC.
MATCH 1 | Columbia International University
In the first set, the Rams attacked early with an eight-point rally. A kill from Katie Williams, followed by a kill from Leah Bowen closed the gap. The Rams continued to add on, where a kill from Sonya Silecky kept the Lady Bears in the set. A late kill from Bowen was not enough and TMU fell 13-25. In set two, the Lady Bears were first to strike with a block from Ranavia Neal, followed by a kill from Williams. A block from Williams and a kill from Bowen kept the score even. The Rams took the lead with back-to-back four-point rallies. A kill from Jordan Roberts was a late hope, but the Lady Bears still fell 14-25.
In the final set, an early four-point rally from the Rams gave them an early lead, but kills from Williams and Roberts kept the margin small. CIU continued to push forward as the Lady Bears trailed behind. Two consecutive kills from Williams and a kill from Roberts threatened to close the gap, but a four-point rally brought the set within three. A late attempt from TMU was not enough, leaving the Lady Bears to fall in three sets.
LEADERS
Williams led the way with nine kills, followed by Bowen with eight and Roberts with six. Silecky recorded nine digs, while Deomi Valmus recorded seven. Brooklynn Brock recorded 24 assists on the day.
MATCH 2 | Columbia International University
In the first set, both teams were neck-and-neck until the Rams jumped ahead with an eight-point rally. A kill from Williams and Neal closed the gap, but a late kill from Roberts was not enough (13-25). In the second set, the Rams scored early with a four-point rally. A kill from Rachel Kessler and Virginia Hudson closed the deficit. The Rams continued to add to their lead, where a kill from Silecky was the last hope (13-25).
In the final set, both teams were evenly matched until two, three-point rallies gave the Rams a large advantage. A kill from Katie Williamson and Williams was the last hope, leaving TMU to fall 10-25.
LEADERS
Williams led the way with five kills, followed by Roberts and Silecky with three apiece. Madyson Dunn tallied 14 digs on the day, followed by Kessler with six. Emma Boland recorded 10 assists.

The Lady Bears return to the Harris Athletic Complex on Tuesday, October 25 to face AAC foe Columbia College. Match time is set for 6:30 p.m.
