CLEVELAND, Ga. (October 12, 2022)- The Truett McConnell University men's soccer team returned to the TMU Soccer Complex to face Appalachian Athletic Conference member, Columbia College, where the Bears played lights out offense to secure a 6-1 victory. TMU rises to a record of 7-4-2, 4-4-1 AAC, while the Koalas fall to a record of 0-9-1, 0-8 AAC.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
In the first period, the Bears were hot out of the gates with their first goal of the day in the first minute from
Max Farris, assisted by
Will Fraser-Gray (1-0). The Bears were hot on offense, with goal number two in the 19
th minute from Fraser-Gray, assisted by Farris for an early TMU lead (2-0). A quick turnaround from Farris resulted in goal number three to create a large deficit (3-0). In the final seconds of the first period,
Jez Walker-Patterson, assisted by
Justin Hicks sent the Bears into the half ahead, 4-0.
In the second period, the Bears continued with a stellar offense, where
Oscar Brennan had the fifth goal in the 64
th minute, assisted by Fraser-Gray (5-0). The Koalas were able to score a lone goal off a penalty kick in the 73
rd minute (5-1), but the Bears sealed the deal with
Toby Berry recording his first collegiate goal, assisted by
Christian Bowen, in the 82
nd minute (6-1).
LEADERS
Farris led the way with five shots, five on goal, two goals and one assist. Fraser-Gray followed with six shots, four on goal, one goal and two assists, while Brennan recorded four shots, three on goal, and one goal on the evening.
