BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (Apr. 8, 2021) – The No. 11-seeded Truett McConnell University men's volleyball team lost to No. 6-seeded Reinhardt University in three straight sets (25-14, 25-13, 25-6) in the opening round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament on Thursday. This concluded the program's first-ever season (0-17, 0-16 MSC), while the Eagles improved to 12-10, 9-7 MSC.
An early 7-0 scoring run and late 6-0 run by the Eagles allowed Reinhardt to claim their first win of the match by 11 (14-25). After a tied set at 2-2, Reinhardt never allowed the Bears to score more than one point at a time in route to eventually win the second set with a 3-0 closing run (13-25). The Eagles went on to open the third set on a dominating 19-2 to ultimately secure the sweep over TMU (6-25).
Wensky Saintilmond individually led the Bears recording a total of 12 assists and nine digs.
Kaleb Mitchell and
Ethan Conners followed with five digs apiece, while
Jackson Adams carried the offense with four kills. Mitchell,
Jordan Anderson-Stanley and
Brice Dollar all added three kills apiece.
Ryan Stokes led with three blocks, while Dollar led with two service aces.
