LEBANON, Tenn. (Mar. 27, 2021) – The Truett McConnell University men's volleyball team competed in the Mid-South Conference Crossover over the weekend at Campbellsville University where they faced Midway University and Georgetown College on Friday, and Cumberland University on Saturday. The Bears lost to Midway in three (25-15, 25-18, 25-15), Georgetown in three (25-6, 25-9, 25-10) and Cumberland in three (25-16, 25-14, 25-13), which put TMU at 0-14, 0-14 MSC on their first-ever year.
 
MIDWAY 0-3
An early 8-1 run by the Eagles proved to be the difference in the first set. TMU got within as little as eight (10-18) but it was too late as Midway earned their first win of the day on an 8-5 run (15-25). The second set was tightly contested (13-13) until Midway scored four unanswered points (13-17). The Eagles ultimately used another 4-0 run take their second set of the day by seven (18-25). Midway opened up the third set, once again, on an 8-1 run in route to clinch the sweep over TMU (15-25).
 
Jackson Adams carried the offense with five kills, while Kyle Trammell followed with four. Trammel also led with seven digs and three blocks. Wensky Saintilmond was credited nine assists.
 
GEORGETOWN 0-3
The Bears dug themselves an early hole (2-13) that they were never capable of getting out of (6-25). Georgetown got out front by as much 13 (3-16) in route to take the second set (9-25) before clinching the sweep on a 10-1 run in game three (10-25).
 
Kaleb Mitchell led with three kills, while Ethan Conners led with seven digs. Adams and Saintilmond added three digs apiece. Saintilmond was credited five assists.
 
CUMBERLAND 0-3
After the Phoenix pulled ahead by as much as six (8-14), the Bears went on a 4-0 run to get back within as little as two (12-15). However, Cumberland went a 4-0 run themselves and TMU was never capable of fully catching up (16-25). The Phoenix scored seven unanswered points when it was just a one-point set, which proved to be the difference in the end as Cumberland won their second set of the night over the Bears (14-25). Cumberland went on to fasten the sweep over the Bears in the third set as they managed to lead throughout the entire set (13-25).
 
Mitchell led once again with five kills, while Adams added three and Trammell had two. Conners led with six digs, while Saintilmond, Mitchell and Trammell added three apiece. Saintilmond was credited a total of 11 assists.

TMU is back on the road for two more Mid-South Conference matches that will conclude their regular season. The Bears are at Life University on Thursday, April 1, and Reinhardt University on Saturday, April 3.
