WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Mar. 26, 2021) – The No. 25 Truett McConnell University women's soccer team traveled to No. 4 Keiser University to face the reigning NAIA National Champions on Friday afternoon. The Lady Bears fell 5-0 to the Seahawks to finish the regular season 12-3-2, 12-0-1 AAC, while the Seahawks improved to 16-2-1.

"When you play the national champions, you know it's going to be difficult," Head Coach David McDowell said. "Keiser has so many quality players and showed why they are so strong. However, what I am most proud of is the character of my team. They played without fear, and they played together and for each other.

This has been a tough spring for us. We have played opponents and I believe it has made us stronger. The games have stretched and challenged us and pushed out of our comforted zone but we're rolling into post season better and more experienced than we were in February. We are a close group that love each other, and we are definitely looking forward to playoff time."

The Lady Bears held the Seahawks to just two goals on 15 shots throughout the first 45 minutes of regulation (0-2). TMU also earned a corner kick in the first half. Keiser, however, scored three more unanswered in the first 10 minutes of the second half (0-5). TMU also held Keiser to four less shots in the second half (11). The final two minutes of the game saw freshman Kayla Boggess take TMU's lone shot of the day. Goalkeeper Addy Galason recorded a total of seven saves on the day.

The No. 1-seeded Lady Bears will look to host No. 4-seeded Montreat College for the semifinal game of the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament on Wednesday, Mar. 31, at the TMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex.
