KINGSPORT, Tenn. (Mar. 23, 2021) – The No. 3-seeded Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team swept No. 6-seeded Bluefield College (25-15, 25-22, 25-13) in the Quarterfinals of the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament to advance to the Semifinals. Last time they met, in the regular season, the Lady Bears won in five sets.
The Lady Bears recorded their 19th win of the season, which is a new program record (19-7, 14-5 AAC). TMU will now look to face No. 2 Reinhardt University at 12:30 p.m., on Thursday.

TMU got off to a hot start as they went on a 13-2 scoring run to get out front by as much as 14 (21-7). Bluefield picked up the pace to go on a 4-0 run when TMU was at point 24, however, the game ultimately already proved to be out of reach (25-15). Jordan Roberts kill fueled a strong 5-0 scoring run foe the Lady Bears to win their second set of the night (25-22). The Lady Bears eventually pulled away in the third set on a 6-0 run (22-9) in route to secure their postseason sweep over the Rams to advance to the semifinal match (25-13).

BY THE NUMBERS
TMU dominated in the kills column recording a total of 48, in comparison to Bluefield's 26. Individually, Roberts led the way with 13, while
Bethany Ross followed with 11.
Ranavia Neal added nine and
Sonya Silecky added eight. Neal and Roberts led with two blocks apiece. Silecky also added 11 digs. Senior
Abby Maxwell recorded a double-double of 34 assists and 15 digs, while fellow senior
Hannah Conners had 13 digs.
