LAURINBURG, N.C. (Feb. 4, 2021) – The Truett McConnell University women's basketball team's four-game win streak snapped at St. Andrews University on Thursday evening when they fell by a slim margin (68-63) despite a late rally. The Lady Bears fell to 9-11, 6-11 AAC on the season, while the Knights picked up their first win of the season.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
TMU dug themselves a hole throughout the first 10 minutes of the game as St. Andrews outscored by 13Â (22-9). However, the Lady Bears went on to outscore by two in the second quarter to minimize the halftime deficit to 11 (26-37). In fact, TMU went on to outscore the Knights in the third and fourth quarters but the slow start ultimately proved to be the difference.

Re'Tavia Floyd's bucket layup in the paint tied the game back up with 1:21 to go in the game (61-61), but St. Andrews capitalized at the free throw line going 7-for-7 to clinch the win.

LEADERS
Quan Holton led the way with a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds. Fellow junior
Aisya Davis scored 11 and led with three steals, while senior
Sierra Kendall had 10 points, eight rebounds and two blocks. Floyd added 10 points and two assists. Holton, freshman
Sydnie Smith and Davis also had two assists apiece.
