WALESKA, Ga. (October 5, 2021) - The Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team traveled Tuesday to face Appalachian Athletic Conference competitor, Reinhardt University. The Eagles were firing on all cylinders forcing the Lady Bears to work hard from behind, ultimately falling to a score of 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-16). The Eagles rose to a record of 11-6, 8-2 AAC, while TMU fell to a record of 8-13, 5-5 AAC.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Lady Bears fought hard, but were unable to rally. TMU started off the first set strong with an ace from Deomi Valmus. However, Reinhardt had several three-point rallies to shut the Lady Bears down. Kills from Jordan Roberts, Sonya Silecky and Bethany Ross helped close the gap, but ultimately was not enough. The Lady Bears fell 18-25 in the first set. At the start of the second set, both teams were neck and neck; however, the Eagles managed to breakaway with a four-point rally. TMU fought hard with a three-point run of their own, featuring a kill from Silecky, but fell short 21-25. In the final set, the Lady Bears started with a two-point rally. TMU fought hard with two service aces from Morgan Cox to help keep them in the game, ultimately falling to RU with a final score of 16-25.
LEADERS
Roberts led the way with five kills and two digs, followed by Silecky with three kills and six digs. Cox had a night with three service aces and seven digs of her own. Rachel Kessler and Deomi Valmus also tallied seven digs apiece.

The Lady Bears will return inside the TMU Volleyball/Wrestling Arena Thursday, Oct. 7, to face AAC opponent, Bluefield College, with a match time of 6:30 p.m.
