GAINESVILLE, Ga. (October 27, 2021) – On Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University women's soccer team traveled to face Brenau University in an Appalachian Athletic Conference, where the Lady Bears bested the Golden Tigers with a final score of 5-0. TMU collected their 12th AAC win of the season and are now sitting at a record of 15-2-0, 12-1 AAC, while Brenau fell to a record of 5-8-1, 5-8-1 AAC.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
Hannah Logue struck first for the Lady Bears in the 20th minute with goal number one of the game (1-0), and once more in the 29th minute for goal number two (2-0). The Lady Bears continued to strike, tallying multiple shots, along with a third and fourth goal by Kayla Boggess and Natalie Alamri in the 40th and 41st minute to end the half.
The second half saw TMU hot from the start, with two shots and an earned corner kick in the first five minutes. The fifth and final goal of the game came in the 59th minute, after Lindsey Fowler found the back of the net (5-0). The Lady Bears continued to outshoot the Golden Tigers 11-0, ultimately clinching the win with a final score 5-0.
LEADERS
Logue led the way with two goals and three shots, while Fowler and Alamri weren't far behind with one goal and three shots apiece. Boggess recorded one goal of her own, followed by Kristin Beasley who recorded two shots on goal. Lyndsey Darden, Eliska Dvorakova and Kendra Wilbert individually tallied a shot on goal, while goalie Emelie Taylor recorded two goal saves on the night.

The lady Bears are back inside the TMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex for their final regular season game of the season, where they will face AAC competitor, St. Andrews University, Saturday, Oct. 30. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m., with senior day festivities scheduled for before kickoff. Â
