CLEVELAND, Ga. (October 19, 2021) - The Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team competed Tuesday, inside the TMU Volleyball/Wrestling Arena, where they faced Appalachian Athletic Conference foe, Brenau University in four heartbreaking sets (25-12, 25-10, 18-25, 25-17). The Lady Bears fell to a record of 10-17, 6-9 AAC, while the Golden Tigers rose to a record of 13-12, 8-7 AAC.

The Lady Bears had a slow start, but were able to rally together with a kill from
Bethany Ross and
Jordan Roberts. A service ace from
Taylor Roland and a kill from
Elizabeth Franklin kept TMU competitive, but ultimately resulted in a 12-25 loss in set one. In the second set, a kill from Ross allowed the Lady Bears to hit the board. A kill from
Katie Williamson and
Ranavia Neal contributed points, but TMU fell short 10-25. In the third set, the Lady Bears gained momentum to string together a three-point rally at the start. Kills from Silecky, Ross and
Virginia Hudson kept the Lady Bears neck and neck with the Golden Tigers. Another three-point rally with a service ace from
Madyson Dunn put TMU ahead, followed by a kill from Neal, Franklin and Hudson, which secured a 25-18. The fourth set saw kills from Silecky and Franklin at the start. Neal and Roberts had kills that rallied together a mid-set run, but ultimately the Lady Bears fell short 17-25.

LEADERS
Ross led the way with nine kills on the evening, along with four digs. Franklin had five kills, followed by Roberts and Neal who individually had four kills. Dunn and Roland both had a single service ace apiece. Silecky led with 15 digs, followed by
Deomi Valmus with 10.

The Lady Bears will return inside the TMU Volleyball/Wrestling Arena Friday, Oct. 22, where they face Spartanburg Methodist College, with a match time set for 6:30 p.m.
