BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (October 16, 2021) - The Truett McConnell University men's soccer traveled to face AAC opponent, Union College, Saturday where they suffered a 5-0 loss against the Bulldogs. The Bears fell to a record of 4-7-2, 3-7 AAC, while Union rose to a record of 6-4-1, 4-3 AAC.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Bulldogs scored their first goal in the eight minute (0-1). Marco Vernazza had the only shot of the period in the tenth minute. In the second period, the Bulldogs had two corner kicks, but were unable to capitalize. Vernazza had the only shot on goal of the second period in the 61st minute, while the Bulldogs scored their second and third goal in the 69th and 73rd minute (0-3). The Bulldogs closed out the day with two more goals, causing the Bears to fall 0-5. 

LEADERS
Vernazza had two shots on the day, with one on goal. Goalie Chandler Bond and Riley Powers were resilient on defense. Bond had six goal saves, while Riley had two of his own.

The Bears return to the TMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex Wednesday, Oct. 20, as they face AAC Competitor, Reinhardt University, with a kickoff time set for 7:30 p.m.
