LAURINBURG, N.C. (Nov. 3, 2020) – For the ninth straight Appalachian Athletic Conference match, the Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team comes out on top on Tuesday evening at St. Andrews University (27-25, 25-22, 25-18). The Lady Bears improved to 10-2, 10-2 AAC on the season, while the Knights fell to 3-11, 3-11 AAC.

A TMU attacking error allowed St. Andrews to tie up set one at 24-24, however, a pair of
Bethany Ross kills fastened the Lady Bears' first win of the evening in extra points (26-24). The Knights fought back in the second set pushing to lead by as much as five but a SAU attacking error sparked a 6-0 scoring run by TMU, which gave them the momentum to secure the second win of the night (25-22). At 8-8, the Lady Bears pulled ahead and put away the Knights for good in the third set to secure their fifth sweep of the season (25-18).

Abby Maxwell and freshman
Sonya Silecky led the way with a double-double apiece for the fourth straight match. Maxwell was credited 28 assists and led defensively with 23 digs. Silecky led the offense, alongside
Ranavia Neal, with 12 kills and added 12 digs. Neal also had 12 kills and added three blocks, while Ross added 11 kills. Senior
Hannah Conners had eight digs and seven assists.
