CLEVELAND, Ga. (Nov. 16, 2020) – The Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team recorded their eighth Appalachian Athletic Conference sweep of the season on Monday evening inside the TMU Volleyball/Wrestling Arena. The Lady Bears took down the Montreat College Cavaliers in three straight (25-11, 25-20, 25-15) to conclude their fall regular season schedule. TMU, in fact, improved to 14-5, 14-5 AAC on the season, which is the most AAC wins in program history.

After opening up the match on a 5-0 run, the Lady Bears proved to put the game out of reach as TMU earned their first win of the evening by 14 (25-11). Although the Cavaliers fought back in the second set to lead by as much as four, a Jordan Roberts kill put TMU out front for good (14-13) and closed out their second win on a strong 4-0 run that was fueled by a Sonya Silecky kill (25-20).
 
It was only up for TMU as they pushed to lead by as much as 14 in the third set. Though Montreat held TMU at point 23 for five straight rallies, the Lady Bears ultimately put away the Cavaliers (3-15, 3-15 AAC) by 10 (25-15).
 
LEADERS
Overall, the Lady Bears outshined Montreat in the kills column by 27 (50-23). Individually, junior Bethany Ross led the offense with 14 kills, while Roberts followed with 11. Silecky added nine and Ranavia Neal had eight. Neal and senior Abby Maxwell led with three blocks apiece. Maxwell recorded a double-double of 36 assists and 10 digs, while fellow seniors Hannah Conners and Anna Mumpower had six digs apiece. Conners was also credited four assists.
