TOCCOA, Ga. (Oct. 30, 2020) – The Truett McConnell University women's basketball team put up triple-digits in their dominating season opener at Toccoa Falls College (100-60) on Friday evening.

Although the Screaming Eagles possessed a one-point lead three minutes into the game (5-6), junior
Re'Tavia Floyd earned an and-1 to put TMU out front and the Lady Bears never looked back. In fact, another Floyd bucket in the paint allowed TMU to lead by as many as 19 points,
their largest lead of the half, in the second quarter (43-24).
It only took five minutes into the second half for the Lady Bears to put the game out of reach as the Lady Bears drained four unanswered 3-pointers, by sophomore
Brenna Tate and junior
Camilla Howell, to lead by 30 (65-35). The fourth quarter saw TMU lead by no less than 30 points the rest of the way as the Lady Bears outscored by 11 to ultimately claim their first win of the 2020-21 campaign.
BY THE NUMBERS
Overall, the Lady Bears outscored the Screaming Eagles by 36 (54-18) in the paint. Additionally, TMU shot 53.4% from the field and 50% from the 3-point line. The visiting Lady Bears also outrebounded Toccoa by 18 (48-30).
Individually, senior
Sierra Kendall led the way with a double-double of 18 points and 17 rebounds. Kendall also led with three steals. Tate had a career night of 18 points, including five 3-pointers. Floyd added 17 points, Howell had 11 and junior
Quan Holton had 10. Junior
Aisya Davis was credited six assists, while Holton and
Sydney Rumble tallied four apiece.

TMU is set to host Keiser University for their home opener on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 5:30 p.m., before hitting the road for their Appalachian Athletic Conference opener at Bluefield College on Saturday, Nov. 7.
