GAINESVILLE, Ga. (April 6, 2019) – Senior Mckenzie Noggle led the Truett McConnell University women's lacrosse team to an Appalachian Athletic Conference win at Brenau University in their season finale (12-6).
PLAY-BY-PLAY
Noggle netted her first goal of the day in the first 25 seconds of the game off a free position shot (1-0). Brenau matched it five minutes later (1-1) but Noggle capitalized on another free position shot to put the Lady Bears back out front (2-1). Additionally, sophomore Cameron Lee scored again off an assist from Alexis Carter to give TMU a two-goal cushion (3-1). Brenau responded with a goal of their own (3-2) but the Lady Bears' Samatha Camp added three more goals in the final 13 minutes before the half (6-2).
Holly Foster sparked the second half with an unassistant goal in the first three minutes (7-2), Noggle scored just 10 seconds later (8-2) and Lee found the back of the net once again on a free position shot (9-2). The Golden Tigers scored two straight goals (9-4) but the Lady Bears continued to attack. Noggle, Holly F. and Carter all scored TMU's final three goals (12-4). Brenau netted two more goals in the final three minutes (12-6) but it proved not enough as the game proved to be out of reach.
LEADERS
Noggle led the way with seven shots, six on goal, while Lee shot four, three on goal. Christian Roberts earned 11 saves on the day.
