Second half dooms Lady Bears vs. Asbury

CLEVELAND, Ga. (March 20, 2019) – The Truett McConnell University women's lacrosse team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Asbury University on Wednesday afternoon. The Lady Bears trailed by just one goal with 27 minutes to go in the game but the Eagles ran away with the win (19-8).

PLAY-BY-PLAY

Asbury scored twice in the first eight minutes of the game but Cameron Lee aggressively found the back of the net for the Lady Bears on a free position shot (1-2). After the Eagles scored three more, Holly Foster successfully cleared the ball to run all the way down and fire TMU's second goal (2-5). Hope Foster and McKenzie Noggle scored back to back with 10 minutes before the half. Hope Foster's netted TMU's third goal directly after she won the draw and Noggle's happened on a free position shot (4-7).

Hope and Holly Foster each scored again before the half ended which put the Lady Bears at a three goal deficit at halftime (6-9). Noggle scored twice back to back within 45 seconds of one another at the start of the second half to cut the deficit down to a single goal (8-9). However, it was only up from there for the Eagles.

LEADERS

Hope F. led with six shots, five on goal, while Lee had six shots, three on goal. Noggle followed with five shots, four on goal, and Holly Foster tallied four shots.

Hope Foster earned three ground balls while Hope earned two.

Freshman Christian Roberts recorded a season high of 15 saves.
