Bears win third straight, second straight AAC road game

COLUMBIA, S.C. (Feb. 12, 2019) – The Truett McConnell University men's basketball team defeated Allen University (68-64) for the second time this season on Tuesday night to record their third straight win and second straight Appalachian Athletic Conference road win. The Bears improved to 15-12, 9-11 AAC on the year while the Yellow Jackets fell to 13-16, 8-12 AAC.

COACH'S COMMENTS

"We've had some wild and memorable games at Allen," Head Coach Jon Yeh said. "This one was no different. We played a pretty precise first, the second half was just plain winning ugly and gutting it out. We never gave up the lead, we hit timely shots and we got just enough stops and rebounds to close them out.

Ange Badji stepped up and played some huge minutes to close the first half. He hasn't played much this year, so it was great to see him make the most of his opportunity. We played without four men due to injury or illness. But all of our guys were ready to help in this must-win game."

LEADERS

Myles Monroe led the Bears with 24 points, 17 of which came in the first half. Senior Jacob Booke followed with 21 points going 7-of-10 from behind the 3-point arc. Fellow senior Christian Davis added nine points, five rebounds and three assists.

Full stats/play-by-play will be posted when provided.
