CLEVELAND, Ga. (Dec. 4, 2019) – The Truett McConnell University men's basketball team hosted Columbia International University for their fifth Appalachian Athletic Conference game of the season on Wednesday night inside the Benjamin F. Brady Arena. The visiting Rams defeated the Bears 90-66, which put TMU at 5-3, 2-3 AAC on the year.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
After trading the lead back and forth throughout the first five minutes of the game, the Rams pushed to get out front with a 3-pointer at 15:55 and it was only up from there. The Bears were unable to come back in from behind as CIU led by as many 15 points. The Rams, in fact, held a 13-point lead going into the half after another 3-pointer in the final seven seconds (31-44).
The closest TMU got to CIU in the second half was by 10 points, while the Rams led by as many as 26.
Most notable, the Rams made a total of 14 3-pointers on the night and TMU outrebounded CIU by five (42-37).
LEADERS
Antonio Bonilla led the way with 13 points and Enocka Franky followed with 10 points and nine rebounds. Xavier Latore scored nine, rebounded seven and was credited two assists. Marlon Allen scored eight and rebounded 10. Brent Kelly was credited three assists.
