Lady Bears suffer first loss of the season

WALESKA, Ga. (Nov. 13, 2019) – The Truett McConnell University women's basketball team suffered their first loss of the season on Wednesday night. The Lady Bears lost at Reinhardt University (75-52) in their second Appalachian Athletic Conference game of the season, which put them at 3-1, 1-1 AAC on the year.

Although the Eagles got out front by 18 before halftime (16-36), the Lady Bears picked up the pace in the second half. TMU was only outscored by four points in the third quarter (19-23) and by one point in the fourth (15-16). Brenna Tate's 3-pointer six minutes into the second half brought the Lady Bears within 17 points (32-49), but it proved not enough as Reinhardt pushed to lead by as many as 29 points.

Sophomore Re'Tavia Floyd led the Lady Bears with 13 points while Sierra Kendall recorded a total of 14 rebounds. Sydney Rumble added nine points, and Jessica Jackson and Kendall had seven points apiece.

Up next, TMU will host Columbia College on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 2:00 p.m.
