Volleyball looks to continue record-breaking season at AAC tournament

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (Nov. 12, 2019) – The Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team is the No. 7 seed for the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament, which will begin Wednesday, Nov. 13. The Lady Bears are set to face the No. 10 seed, Tennessee Wesleyan University, at 6:30 p.m., on Wednesday at the MeadowView Marriott Conference Resort & Convention Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.

"The team has been really excited to travel to Kingsport for the tournament," Head Coach Mark Corbin said. "The team is coming off its best season ever and is ready to continue breaking records. We've had a great week of practice leading up to the tournament so we feel well prepared for the competition we will face.

As a team we will have rallied around the theme of All In, All the Time, All for Him. As we close out the 2019 season, we want to finish strong and on a positive note. We want others to remember our team and how tough we were to play and how we worked so well together as a unit. I am very proud of these girls and their great attitudes and effort throughout this season."

This year's team has recorded the most overall wins (16) and most AAC wins (12) in program history. The longest winning streak the team recorded this season was three straight in early October when they swept Columbia College, Toccoa Falls College and Brenau University.

All matches will be streamed online via the AAC Digital Network for free. All AAC postseason awards will be announced Wednesday at the AAC banquet.
