CLEVELAND, Ga. (Oct. 11, 2019) – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the latest women's and men's golf coaches' top 25 polls on Friday and the Truett McConnell University men are listed tied at No. 14, alongside Thomas University, with 258 points, while the Lady Bears are receiving votes for the first time in program history.
"I am so excited for my ladies to be receiving votes for the first time ever," Head Coach
Steve Patton said. "They have worked so hard and I am proud of them for reaching on of our goals early in the season. The men have started off extremely well this year playing against some of the top teams in the country. This ranking validates the work they have put in over the summer and so far this season. To say that I am excited about the start to our season would be an understatement! Stay humble and stay hungry is our motto this season!"
Other Appalachian Athletic Conference members in the poll on the women's side include Milligan College at No. 16 and Tennessee Wesleyan at No. 24, while SCAD Atlanta dropped out, whom the Lady Bears defeated this fall. On the men's side, Point University ranks No. 4 and Reinhardt University sits at No. 24.
The women are set to compete in the AAC Fall Preview in Braselton, Georgia, on Oct. 14 – Oct. 15, while the men will compete in their AAC Fall Preview Oct. 21 – Oct. 22 in Adairsville, Georgia.
