HARTSVILLE, S.C. (Jan. 2, 2019) – Michael Antoniewicz, a 2016 Truett McConnell University graduate and the TMU men's soccer assistant coach the last three seasons, has been named the new Coker College Men's Soccer Head Coach. Coker is a NCAA DII school and a member of one of the most competitive DII conferences in the country, the South Atlantic Conference.

"Michael has been an asset to our athletic department in many ways, but I believe that what I am most proud of is how I have seen him grow and mature in his faith during his 7 years as a student-athlete and then assistant coach at TMU," Athletic Director Jenni Shepard said. "His work ethic is second to none and I know that that was one of the many qualities of his that stood out to the administration at Coker.

He is someone who will be successful in whatever he does because of the inner drive that he has. As hard as it is to say goodbye we are tremendously proud of Michael and wish him nothing but the best as he begins his career as a head coach."

During Antoniewicz's time as an assistant coach, the Bears posted an overall record of 32-20-3, including an Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament Championship which nabbed an NAIA National Tournament appearance in 2017.

"My time at Truett has been great," Antoniewicz said. "Coming through the school as a student to a coach and seeing the growth of the school has been amazing to see. I was able to gain a great degree that I get to use in my line of work and it has prepared me to pursue my coaching career. I want to thank the cabinet for allowing me the opportunity to coach at Truett McConnell. A special thanks to coach Rob Miller for everything that he has done for me.

The best memory was winning the AAC championship and going to the national tournament. All the teams I have worked with are special; special people and special players and they were all a privilege to coach and see them grow. TMU will be a place I will miss dearly and the people around campus."

Antoniewicz's new role as head coach will begin at Coker immediately.
