COLUMBIA, S.C. (Sept. 18, 2018) – The Truett McConnell University women's soccer team, who is receiving votes in the NAIA national top 25 poll released Tuesday, remains undefeated in the Appalachian Athletic Conference after their third conference shutout. The Lady Bears (6-1, 4-0 AAC) blanked Columbia International University (4-1, 0-1 AAC) on the road Tuesday evening 3-0.
WILLIAMS' FIRST HALF GOALS
TMU dominated the first 45 minutes of play outshooting the Rams 13-1. For the second game in a row, Lydia Williams' first goal came within just single-digit minutes of coming off the bench. Fellow freshman Sydney Ziglar found Williams' feet enabling her to net the first goal of the night. Four minutes later, Finley Brisendine, another freshman, crossed and Williams drilled the pass with her head past CIU's keeper (2-0).
McCALL SISTERS FIND THE BACK OF THE NET
Like the first half, the Lady Bears dominated the game outshooting the Rams 13-3. Following a corner kick taken by CIU, the ball was cleared and Megan McCall made contact to dribble all the way down the field to place it at the six for Jennifer McCall to deliver the third goal of the night (3-0).
LEADERS
Williams, who is the most recent AAC offensive player of the week, tallied her seventh goal of her freshman campaign while J. McCall tallied her fifth goal of her sophomore year. M. McCall led with seven shots, J. McCall connected for five and Williams four. Jasmin Lanuza added three, one on goal.
Jessica Hale, who is the most recent AAC defensive player of the week, compiled a total of two saves.

TMU is back on the road Wednesday, Sept. 26, to face Montreat College at 5:00 p.m., and will return home to the TMU Soccer Complex on Saturday, Sept. 29, for another AAC matchup against Bryan College at 4:00 p.m.
