Balanced Attack Paces Bears To 91-73 Road Win

COLUMBIA, SC. |    Bolstered by a balanced scoring attack, the Truett McConnell University men's basketball team registered an impressive 91-73 victory on the road against non-conference Columbia International University Saturday afternoon. The victory set a school record of 18 wins in a single season as a four-year NAIA program. The Bears are now 18-10 on the season and 10-8 in AAC play.

TMU got out to a quick start in the first twenty seconds by senior Mario Westbrooks finishing strong under the basket. The two teams traded baskets throughout the first period until Christian Davis nailed back to back three pointers to eventually send the Bears into halftime with a 13 point lead, 46-33.
Coming out of the locker room going into the second half, the Bears poured it on strong and never looked back. TMU got up as much as 19 points, and used their advantage as a cushion to eventually seal another victory. The Bears profited off second chance points (23-12) and points off turnovers (15-8) against the rams.

Freshman, Myles Monroe set the tone for the Bears with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds. Christian Davis trailed right behind Monroe finishing with 19 points and 4 assists. Also finishing in double figures for TMU respectively was Jacob Booke (13), David Campbell Jr. (11), and Calvin White who also finished with a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Truett will travel one last time for a regular season AAC contest against Reinhardt University on February 14th. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
