WEST POINT, Ga. (Dec. 5, 2018) – Sophomore Sierra Kendall recorded her third double-double of the season on Wednesday night at Point University but the Lady Bears dropped their third Appalachian Athletic Conference road game of the year to the Skyhawks, 69-52. The Lady Bears fell to 2-8, 1-7 AAC on the year while the Skyhawks won their fifth game straight (7-3, 6-2 AAC).
EARLY TRAIL | LATE RESPONSE
Point got started out on the right foot going on a 9-0 run in the first quarter to gain enough momentum to eventually outscore TMU by 13 points in the first half. Though the Skyhawks came back out in the third quarter to outscore the Lady Bears again, TMU picked up the pace in the final 10 minutes of play. The Lady Bears were capable of slimming a 30-point deficit to a 17-point deficit, outscoring the Skyhawks by five (20-15). In fact, freshman Re'Tavia Floyd drained a 3-pointer out of the hands of Sydney Rumble with 16 points left to go but it proved not enough as Point handed TMU their seventh AAC loss of the season.
LEADERS
Kendall's double-double of 17 points, 12 rebounds led the way while Floyd followed with 15 points. Kinley Mitchell earned six rebounds and Yasmine Avery added six points.
