MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Nov. 28, 2018) – The Truett McConnell University men's basketball team traveled to Appalachian Athletic Conference member Milligan College on Wednesday night coming off a solid conference win against Bluefield College. The Bears and Buffaloes battled it out start to finish but it was Milligan who ended up out front (90-82).
The Bears dropped to 4-3, 2-3 AAC on the year while the Buffs improved to 6-3, 3-2 AAC.

Truett outworked Milligan on the boards in the first half scooping a total of 12 offensive rebounds in comparison to the Buffs' three. The Bears' first six point of the game came from two 3-pointers by sophomore Xavier Latore and senior Christian Davis. TMU went on to led by as much as five while the Buffs led by as much as two points until the last two minutes of the first half. A Milligan Bo Pless 3-pointer extended their lead to five. Despite Davis answering with a 3-pointer for the Bears, Milligan responded with their sixth 3-pointer of the half to further secure a five-point lead at the half (38-43).
Both teams were hot behind the arc accounting for six 3-pointers in the first 20 minutes of play. Truett and Milligan went on to score five more apiece in the second half but the Buffs shot 59.26% from the field while Truett shot 45.71% and Milligan was sent to the free throw line 19 times while the Bears saw the charity stripe nine times.
Davis immediately drained a 3-pointer in the first 14 seconds of the second half to come within two points of the Buffs (41-43). Truett led Milligan for four minutes until a Tyler Faulkenberry 3-pointer put the Buffs out front for good.
LEADERS
Davis led all scorers with 17 points, adding seven rebounds and four steals. Fellow senior Filipe Goncelves followed with 16 points, six rebounds and Jacob Booke scored 12. Davis and Booke drained four 3-pointers apiece. Sophomores Myles Monroe and Calvin White put up 10 points apiece. Freshman Enocka Franky led with nine rebounds.
