CLEVELAND | The Truett McConnell lacrosse team battled with the seventh-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs but fell short in a 22-4 contest Saturday afternoon on Senior Day.
The Bulldogs struck first within the first minute of play, but
Rachel Brown answered in the second minute to tie the match at 1-1. After another Bulldog goal in the fourth minute,
Olivia Godfrey knotted it back up with a goal in the sixth minute.
TWU responded with 18 straight goals before TMU got back on the scoreboard when Godfrey scored with 8:36 to play. Brown scored again three minutes later for the Bears to notch TMU's final goal of the game.
Emily Shamblin finished the match with 19 saves.
The Bears will next take on Point University on Wednesday on the road. The game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start.
