LAURINBURG, N.C. | The Truett McConnell men's basketball team went toe-to-toe with St. Andrews and trailed by three with just under four minutes to play, but the Knights hit free throws down the stretch to earn a 92-84 win over the Bears Wednesday night.
The Bears and Knights went back and forth the entire night with neither team leading by more than nine at any point during the game. TMU tied the game at 78-78 with 4:06 to play on a
Christian Davis three-pointer, but SAU pulled away from that point, hitting eight of the final nine free throws to seal the win.
Davis finished 12-for-15 from the field and 9-for-11 from distance to get 38 points on the night.
Tylor Brown added 16, while
David Campbell Jr., contributed 13.
TMU will look to get back on the winning track when they travel to Reinhardt on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Waleska.
