CLEVELAND | On a rainy Monday afternoon that saw the second half of a doubleheader get cancelled after a half inning, the Truett McConnell softball team fell at the hands of Brenau, 9-1. The Bears are now 1-2 on the season.

Neither team scored in the first three innings as Megan Burke and Eli Daniel pitched a near perfect first three innings. The Tigers started catching up with Burke in the fourth as they put three runs up in the frame.

The Bears got their only run of the day in the sixth inning. After getting runners to second and third, Olivia Darley came through with two outs as she singled to the left side, scoring Jaden Morrison to make the score 8-1 at the time.

Darley led the Bears at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.

The Bears will next take on Agnes Scott on February 16 in Cleveland. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
