LEAVENWORTH, Kan. | The Truett McConnell lacrosse team finished its Kansas road trip Monday afternoon at the University of Saint Mary and, despite scoring a season-high in goals, fell to the Spires, 18-6.
The Bears scored its first goal of the game with 22 minutes left in the first half when
Kaitlynn Kubin scored on a pass from
Rachel Brown to cut into a five-goal lead.
TMU then scored five goals in the second half, including two from
Olivia Godfrey and another from Kubin. The Spires scored three quick goals, however, at the 11 minute mark in the final frame to pull away for the win.
The Bears will open up Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Wednesday when they travel to Montreat.
