CLEVELAND, GA. | The Truett McConnell men's basketball team fell to a hot-shooting Montreat team, 89-61, Saturday afternoon in the Bear Cave. The Bears fell to 5-2 and 0-2 in AAC play with the loss.
Montreat came out firing offensively in the first half as the led by almost twenty points going into the half, 45-26. The Bears offense picked up in the second half, but the Cavs did not cool down, scoring an impressive 54 points in the paint for the night to end up sealing the victory.
TMU had four players to finish in double figures against Montreat.
Christian Davis led the Bears with 16, while senior
David Campbell Jr. pitched in 13.
Jacob Booke added 11 points, and
Filipe Goncalves contributed with 10.
The Bears will be back in action at the Bear Cave this upcoming Tuesday night against conference rival Bryan College before heading into Thanksgiving break. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m. following the women's game.
