CLEVELAND | Christian Davis hit his second buzzer-beater of the year against the same team as his first one, Allen University, in an 81-79 win Wednesday night in the Bear Cave. The Bears are now 12-11 and 6-7 in league play.
The Bears trailed for the majority of the game as Allen made 58 percent of their shots in the first half, including 47 percent from behind the arc. The Bears took their first lead of the night with 7:33 to play on a
Brandon Cerezola three-pointer to take a 67-66 lead.
After the Yellow Jackets retook the lead, the Bears fought back again to take a one-point lead with 43 seconds to play. After one made Allen free throw, Davis took the ball the length of the floor and held for the final shot. With three seconds to play, Davis hit a 20-foot jump shot from just inside the arc to give the Bears the win.
Davis finished with 21 points in the win.
David Campbell Jr., finished with 14 points, while
Jacob Booke and
Mario Westbrooks added 13 and 10 points, respectively.
The Bears will look to continue the winning streak against Milligan on Saturday. The team is calling for a "White-Out" with tip time set for 4 p.m.
