CLEVELAND | Quiara Gebauer took over the game in the second half, scoring the game-winning goal and assisting on the tying goal as the Truett McConnell women's soccer team defeated Union, 2-1, Saturday afternoon at the TMU Soccer Complex.
Union scored the first goal of the day as Madison Meyer found the back of the net to put the Bulldogs up, 1-0.
The Bears wasted no time in the second half scoring the tying goal as Gebauer found
Brooke Wilson to the bottom left of the net to put the score at 1-1. Gebauer scored the game winning goal 15 minutes later in the top right of the frame after taking a beautiful pass from
Caylin Carter. The defense hung on late to secure the 2-1 win.
TMU outshot Union 23-5 in the contest and 15-3 in shots on goal.
The Bears will welcome Tennessee Wesleyan to Cleveland on Wednesday for a 2 p.m. kickoff at the TMU Soccer Complex
