In the first game of the series, Truett bats were silenced by Skyhawks' starter, Josh Nestlehutt, who pitched a complete game, four hitter. Truett-McConnell starter, Jared Oliver (4.1 IP, 1 H 1 ER, 7 BB, 6 K)  was effectively wild through the first four innings as he kept the Skyhawks off of the scoreboard.  However, the Skyhawks finally managed to take advantage of Oliver's wildness to push across the first run of the game in the fifth inning by scoring the leadoff batter, who reached after being hit by a pitch. Point put the game out of reach in the next inning by scoring four runs off of Caleb Jameson.

Truett had chances to score in the sixth and seventh innings, but were turned away. In the sixth inning, Chris Carden singled and Andrew Fogarty walked with one out before Nestlehutt forced a fly out and a groundout to escape the inning unscathed. In the seventh inning, Sean Cheshire was left stranded at third base to end the game after leading off the inning with a triple. The Bears could not manage a big hit or put together any kind of a big inning and fell 5-0.

In game two, the Bears were turned away empty in the first inning after loading the bases with nobody out, as Point University starter, Dylan Griffin, forced a groundout and two strikeouts to avoid a big inning. The Skyhawks scored in their first at-bat by taking advantage of a Bears' error to go up 1-0. The Bears tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the second inning with an RBI single from Chris Carden. However, the Bears missed the opportunity for a big inning as Walker Caves was cut down at home and Andrew Thomas was thrown out at third.

Point took the lead for good in the top of the third inning when they strung together three singles and a sacrifice fly to put two runs on the scoreboard to go up 3-1. The Bears inched closer in the top of the fourth inning on a Patrick Overstreet homerun to leftfield. That was the final run the Bears could manage though on the afternoon. The Skyhawks tacked on an insurance run in the fifth inning with an RBI double to make the final score, 4-2.

Truett had two more opportunities to score in the sixth and seventh innings, but were again turned away empty. In both the sixth and seventh innings, the Bears loaded the bases with two out before Skyhawks closer, Ti Inlow, forced a strikeout in the sixth and a groundout in the seventh to end the inning and the game.

Chris Stevens (6 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 2) started on the mound for the Bears and pitched six strong innings, but took the loss. Patrick Overstreet (2-3, HR), Tate Gaines (2-3, 2B), and Sean Cheshire (2-4, 2B) each had multi-hit games in the loss.

The Bears were unable to avoid the sweep in the final game of the series. The Skyhawks jumped on Bears' starter, Luke Henderson (5.1 IP, 10 H, 6 ER, 1 BB, 3 K) for three runs in the fourth and sixth innings for six of their seven runs. Truett managed single runs in the third and seventh innings with an RBI double from Andrew Fogarty and a solo homerun from Walker Caves. Those runs were not enough to counter the big innings from the Skyhawks and avoid the sweep.

The Bears are now 20-13 overall on the season and 6-6 in conference play. The team will look to get back in the win column after a rough weekend on Tuesday when they host the Toccoa Falls Eagles on Tuesday at 3 PM.
