MURFREESBORO, Tenn. | The Truett McConnell women's basketball team lost at NCAA Division I Middle Tennessee State Thursday night, 125-35. The Bears are now 1-2 on the season.
The Blue Raiders wasted no time getting out of the gate, scoring the first 10 points of the game in 1:30. The Bears fought back to a 14-5 deficit on a
Madison Curtis three-pointer, but that was as close as TMU would get to MTSU all night.
TMU put forth a fight in the third period, scoring their most points in a quarter on the night, but MTSU continued to push forward, hitting 13 of their 24 threes and scoring 42 points in the paint.
TMU went 13-16 from the free-throw line, including 6-6 from
Janae' Simpson.
The Bears will take a week off before welcoming Toccoa Falls to the Bear Cave for the home opener on Saturday, November 12. The game will also serve as Homecoming with a tipoff scheduled for 2 p.m.
