TOCCOA FALLS, Ga. | The Truett McConnell men's basketball team dropped its first game of the year at Toccoa Falls, 86-74, Tuesday night. The Bears are now 1-1 on the year.
TMU jumped out to an early 7-2 lead against the Screaming Eagles before TFC went on a 13-2 run to take a 15-9 lead that they never relinquished through the game.
The Bears cut the lead down to two with 12:59 left when
Tylor Brown hit a free throw, but the Eagles responded with a five-point swing to extend the lead back out to seven.
Mario Westbrooks and
Jacob Booke led the Bears in the scoring column with 10 points each. TFC's Jovan Morris led all scorers with 30 points.
The Bears will next travel to Life University on Friday to take on the Running Eagles at 8 p.m.
