CLEVELAND | The Truett McConnell women's soccer team scored two goals in each half en route to a 4-0 win over Bluefield Saturday afternoon. The Bears are now 5-5 and 2-3 in league play.
Bailey Pickering got the scoring started in the 20th minute with a rocket off a rebound into the upper part of the net.
Katey Griggs scored 21 minutes later as she dribbled through three Rams and beat the Bluefield keeper to the low right to give TMU a 2-0 halftime lead.
Quiara Gebauer kept the momentum on TMU's side in the second half as she knocked home the third goal of the day off a corner kick from
Paige Williams. The scoring was capped off by
Susanna Peppers who took a cross from
Caylin Carter and headed it home to bring the game to its final score.
Truett McConnell outshot the Bears 36-1 and 21-0 in shots on goal. The Bears did not give up a shot in the second half.
TMU will hit the road for a match against Columbia on Wednesday, October 5. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
