Bears Fall to Point at Home

The Men's Basketball team played in front of the home crowd last night in an AAC match-up against the Skyhawks from Point University. The game featured a late start for the Bears who trailed the Skyhawks 46-39 at halftime.
 
After halftime adjustments, the Bears came out strong ready to fight back. In the final minutes of the game, both teams were battling back and forth for the lead, until a late foul from the Bears sent the Skyhawks into the lead by one point. As the final buzzer went off, the Bears were on the wrong side of an 84-85 loss.
 
J'Quayveon Williams had an impressive game, leading the Bears offensively and defensively with 19 points and 7 rebounds on the night. Andretti Loyd (17 points), Trae Jackson (13 points), and JR Hurst (12 points) had major contributions to the Bears' overall score on the night.
 
"We played our best offensive game this season tonight," said Head Coach Jon Yeh. "Trae, Darius, and Quay had impressive plays on the night, but in the end we have to take care of business before we blame anyone else."
 
The Bears will drop to 4-12 overall on the season and 1-6 in conference play. The Bears will look to rebound on the road in an AAC match-up against the Eagles from Reinhardt University this Saturday, January 9th. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
