The Lady Bears Soccer team took to the field Saturday afternoon in search of a much needed win over the Cavaliers from Montreat College. The Lady Bears, who fell earlier in the week in a hard fought battle against Point University, needed a win to help push their conference play record above .500.

The Bears wasted little time jumping on the scoreboard against the Cavaliers, as sophomore Chelsea Norton scored the game's first goal off an an assist from fellow sophomore Elise Lombard. The Bears went on to add another goal in the first period off the foot of Fort Valley, Georgia native, Katey Griggs. The goal from Griggs helped propel the Lady Bears into a 2-0 lead at the break.

Freshman forward Quiara Gebauer, a recent graduate of Brookwood High School, got the scoring started early in the second period for the Lady Bears as she broke free for an unassisted goal.  Senior striker Kelsey Stanfield from Sharpsburg, Georgia also laced a goal through the Cavaliers' defense in the late minutes to help seal an impressive 4-0 victory for the Lady Bears.

With the win, the Lady Bears moved to 2-1 in AAC play and 5-4 overall on the season. The Bears also improved their record at home to 3-3 for the 2015 season. The Bears' next game will be Wednesday, September 30th, against the Buffaloes from Milligan College. The Lady Bears, who are 2-1 on the road this season, will look to grab another road win to help position themselves in the conference standings. The game, which takes place in Milligan College, Tennessee, is scheduled to start at 5:00 pm.
