Lady Bears Fall to the Buffaloes at Home
Box Score The Lady Bears took to the hardwood Wednesday night to take on AAC rival Milligan. The two teams battled hard throughout the entire first half, with the Milligan Buffaloes taking a 26-23 lead into the locker room at the half. After a series of halftime adjustments, the Bears returned to the court in hopes of roping in the Buffaloes in front of an impressive home crowd.
Junior forward Rhande Haskett led the charge for the Bears, scoring 19 points with 14 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 3 steals on the night during her team-leading 38 minutes of court time. In addition, Natalie Johnson came up big for the Bears with 12 points and 7 rebounds during her 35 minutes of action. However, the Bears' defense was just not able to force enough stops in the second half, and the Buffaloes stretched out their lead en route to 62-52 victory. As a result of the loss, the Bears fell to 6-17 for the year and 4-8 at home. Their Conference record dipped to 2-14, but they'll look to regain their form next Wednesday, February 11th as they play host to Bluefield College. The game is scheduled to tip at 5:30 PM.
