Box Score The Lady Bears' season ended Wednesday as they fell to the Milligan Buffaloes in a disappointing loss. The Bears took to the hardwood in hopes of continuing their season with a win against the Buffaloes in the opening round of the AAC Conference Tournament in Kingsport, Tennessee, but instead only found heartbreak as their season came to a crashing halt.
The Bears fell behind by 20 going into the locker room at the half, as they managed just 15 points in the entire first half. The Bears never could find their offensive rhythm as they shot a meager 3 for 25 from the floor during the first half, while going 1 for 10 from behind the arch. In comparison, Milligan went 10 for 26 from the floor and 6 for 16 from beyond the three-point arch.
As the second half began, it was clear the Buffaloes were not going to be denied a win as they continued to build upon their impressive half time lead. While the Bears did shoot better from the floor during the second half, going 9 for 28 from the floor, the half time deficit proved to be too much for the Lady Bears to overcome. Milligan would go on to win the contest by the final score of 65-44.
Monica Hammond led the Lady Bears in scoring with 15 points, 1 block, and 2 steals during her 37 minutes of court time. Meanwhile, Rhande Haskett wasn't able to find her groove offensively, settling for just 8 points on 3 of 15 shooting from the floor.
The loss closes the book on the Lady Bears' 2014-2015 season, and they finish with an overall record of 6-22, while going 2-18 in conference play.
