Box Score

The Men's Basketball team continued to turn heads and set records this past weekend as they pulled out a close victory over divisional opponent St. Andrews in Laurinburg, North Carolina. The Bears shook off a slow start and rallied late to edge the Knights 68-66. With the win, the Bears set a new school record for most wins in a single season, with 16, since joining the NAIA.

The Bears rallied from an 8 point deficit at halftime by using strong defense and another huge game from J'Quayveon Williams. The Bears out-rebounded the Knights 48-27 on the night and outscored them by 10 points in the second half to score the two point victory. Williams, who scored yet another double-double, had 14 points and 12 rebounds on the night during his 28 minutes of court time. Sophomore Guard Trae Jackson also had a huge night for the Bears, scoring 12 points in his 30 minutes of playing time. Darius McNear and Daniel Beauseiour also had key contributions off the bench for the Bears, as each added 7 points to the Bears' offensive output on the night.

"The recipe for our success this season has been strong rebounding and key contributions, and we certainly continued that trend tonight," said Head Coach Jon Yeh. With the win, the Bears moved to 16-10 overall and 11-5 in conference. The win also pushed their road record over .500 for the season as they moved to 7-6 away from home.

"Quay and Trae both had huge games for us tonight, while Darius and Daniel were a much needed spark off the bench in the first half," said Yeh. "I'm very proud of our resolve and the depth we've been able to show all season."

The Bears will travel to Waleska, Georgia on Wednesday, February 18th to take on the Eagles of Reinhardt University. The Bears will be looking to grab their 3rd victory in a row, and the game is scheduled to tip at 7:30 PM.
